Terrence Bakes is an Atlanta-based TikTok creator known for his engaging and approachable baking videos. With deep roots in family traditions, he infuses his creations and content—affectionately called his “pretend baking show”—with comfort and nostalgia, guiding viewers through each step with clarity and enthusiasm. Committed to making baking accessible to all, Terrence breaks down techniques in a way that empowers both beginners and seasoned bakers.

For his branding, Terrence wanted a mix of playful designs and bold, bright colors that felt modern and fresh. Having seen a PB&J pie video among his first viral recipes, I developed a palette using dark jam, purple, and butter yellow. Seeing as Terrence was the main attraction with a unique look, we sketched a digital avatar of Terrence and made it the brand's mascot and primary logo. As other assets fell into place like the squiggles and pie backgrounds, we found font families like Bakery Home and Noto Sans Mono that gave his videos and substack posts the best blend of soothing personanility and unintimidating recipes.
